Prime Minister Rutte visited Lab Ofichem

Prime Minister Rutte visited Lab Ofichem last Wednesday. As part of an innovation tour through the North of the Netherlands, mr. Mark Rutte has visited the Ofichem R&D Lab in Groningen. After opening the conference “Building the future of Health” at the University Medical Center Groningen, Mr. Rutte visited the company Innolab Chemie BV.
Innolab Chemie BV is an initiative of the University of Groningen and the company Syncom BV, which provides laboratory and office space to start-ups, as well to bigger regional companies that have physically located their R&D activities there. Laboratorium Ofichem BV moved her R&D department to the Innolab in 2015 and participated right from the start. Dr. Weite Oldenziel, CEO of Laboratorium Ofichem BV, showed the laboratory facilities and gave further information on the activities for the pharmaceutical industry. He stressed the importance of collaboration between the different companies.
Mr. Rutte emphasized that the North of the Netherlands is important when it comes to innovations and entrepreneurship and he says this is also contributed by the strong collaboration between the Business, Government and Educational institutions in Groningen.
