Lanthio Pharma Chemical Start-up of the Year

Monday, November 18th, the company Lanthio Pharma from Groningen won the, Golden Germ, the price for the best chemical start-up of the year during the chemical conference CHAINS. Novio Sense (Nijmegen) and Tagworks Pharmaceuticals (Eindhoven) had to settle for second and third place.They were allowed to present themselves to the jury. On the basis of the interview and all information submitted to the jury chose the winner; Lanthio. In addition to the award, in the form of a sculpture, Lanthio Pharma received a check for 18,500 euros from jury chairman Bert-Jan Lommerts. This check should be spend on a research project in collaboration with a university.

Jury chairman Bert-Jan Lommerts explained the choice of the jury: "The jury was impressed by all three candidates, admirable their passion, their hard work and their innovations. We judged the three nomineeson on three criteria: value, innovation and ambition. The winner stands out for its business development. The company was successful in negotiating a technology platform. This generates a cash flow, which enables the company to focus on its core holding ambitions: to make new discoveries and innovations in health care."
